| Anna Paquin was born in New Zealand and raised in Canada. She is a Canadian-New Zealander actress that has been seen in films like The Piano and Fly Away Home. She also appeared in X-Men. It was fate that took over. It wasn't her intention to become an actor, however it was a reality. For the sake of focusing in her studies She turned down a variety of jobs after the success of her first film. At the age of fourteen, she came back to the film industry by accepting parts in Jane Eyre as well as Fly Away Home.In 2000 she played the formidable mutant Roguein X-Menthe first of the X-Men film series. The role catapulted her to worldwide recognition. She reprised the role of Roguein sequels, like X2and X-Men the Last Stand. She also was seen on smaller screens such as in the film Bury My Heart At Wounded Kneeforwhich she was the first to receive an Emmy nomination.
