Yael Stein, who is Australian and lives in New York City since 2013 was the character Lorna Morrello's character in Orange Is the New Black. Yael is a graduate of NIDA. Yael has been fortunate at a young age to work with some of Australia's top storytellers and performers and creative directors within the TV, film and theatre fields. Yael has a very successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has relocated into New York City after the Brooklyn Academy of the Music's production of the play was a critical successful. Yael was co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery supports innovative writing, and creative endeavors through it's Bushwick studio.
